KAYAKING
Kayaking gives an amazing opportunity to see Mauritius from a different angle. From the river all the way to the bay, we will come across of wealth of biodiversity including Dolphins, various species of birds, and even monkeys!
THE MORNE BRABANT – THE SLAVE ROUTE

Le Morne Brabant is the most iconic mountain in the southwest of the island. It is home to a very wide variety of endemic species, such as the rare Trochetia Boutoniana, which is our national floral emblem. This mountain is also and above all a strong symbol of freedom of peace among Mauritians through its history. During the ascent, some steep parts will require the use of our hands to progress safely to the top.

THE TAMARIND FALLS – INTO THE JUNGLE

The Tamarind Falls, also called the 7cascades, is a hike in the heart of Mauritius. We progress in a tropical undergrowth, in an abundant wealth of wild nature, between palm and banana trees, to discover the waterfalls.

THE BLACK-RIVER GORGES – NATIONAL PARK

Follow us off the beaten-tracks of the Black-River Gorges National Park to experience a true adventure in the lungs of Mauritius Island. This world-unique eco-system is home to numerous varieties of species such as the Echo-Parakeet, the Mauritian Kestrel or the Pink Pigeon.

THE WILD SOUTH – A HIDDEN GEM

Get ready for a real immersion in the rivers, natural pools, waterfalls, and the azure blue sea of the Indian Ocean.

Kayaking with Dolphins – A Respectful Encounter

Come with us on a journey to see dolphins in their natural habitat. We’ll start at sunrise and paddle from the shoreline up into Tamarin Bay, where we can encounter these beautiful creatures! The golden lights of morning shine over scenic landscapes making for an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
Prerequisites: be able to swim, have kayaked before, weigh less than 100 kg and be over 12 years old. Difficulty: Easy. Duration: 3 hrs
Kayaking to l’Ile Aux Benitiers

Embark on an unforgettable journey with a guided kayak tour of the breathtaking beauty of Benitiers Island. Located on the serene West coast of Mauritius, this tour offers an escape into a world of crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches. Paddle along the coastline and marvel at the stunning views of the iconic Morne Brabant mountain towering in the distance.
Prerequisites: be able to swim, have kayaked before, weigh less than 100 kg and be over 12 years old. Difficulty: Easy. Duration: 3 hrs
Kayaking on the Tamarin River
Monday to Sunday – Meeting Point: Tamarin Public Beach – Time slots : 13h30 – Per group size Max 8 persons
This trip starts at the very spot where the river meets the ocean, in Tamarin Bay, which is famous for its mythical wave. We will paddle upstream, where the water is calm, to discover the two main arms of the river. .On one side the Rempart and the Trois Mamelles mountains, and on the other, the magnificent mountain of La Tourelle. The surrounding natural habitat boasts lush greenery as well as abundant wildlife. Throughout our journey, we may encounter moorhens, ducks, long billed birds, flying foxes or even monkeys. This activity requires no previous kayaking experience and is suitable for anyone in good health.
Prerequisites: weigh less than 100 kg (or a combined weight of less than 200kg for 2 participants sharing a double kayak, as the maximum weight capacity of our kayaks is 200kg) Difficulty: Easy. Duration: 2 hrs
Kayaking at Sunset

Discover the natural beauty of the Tamarin river at Sunset on this kayak tour with a local guide. Learn about Tamarin history and watch the sunset as you paddle along the calm waters of the Tamarin river.
Prerequisites: weigh less than 100 kg (or a combined weight of less than 200kg for 2 participants sharing a double kayak, as the maximum weight capacity of our kayaks is 200kg)
For all hike activities, please bring your own: 1.5L of water, Suncream, Mosquito spray, Sportswear recommended, Hats/Caps, Raincoat, Trekking shoes.
For all kayak activities, please bring your own: aqua shoes/ slippers, 1.5L of water, Suncream, Hats/Caps, Raincoat, Towel, Waterproof bag, NOTE: Life vest will be provided.
